We offer screened topsoil best used for plant beds, raised gardens or to level out yards. You can also use this for backfilling a retaining wall, as long as you add in some of that central North Carolina red gold (or red clay) that will m ix well to allow for compaction. Our soil comes from the top 4 - 10 inches of the ground and are then screened to remove sticks, rock and other debris.  Good topsoil contains nutrients that are necessary for your plants to thrive. the purer the topsoil the darker it is. Certain types of topsoil that are more sandy can provide better drainage and allow water to penetrate deeper, but they often have a grey color.
